Nine Questions on A Monday

Some important, soul stirring and unavoidable questions being asked by my mind-voice and answered by my real-voice. Before the QA session – Hello Internet, good to see you!!

Q1– Why did finish your lunch in such a hurry?

A1– Moo had missed her morning nap and was in a very cranky mood – having already destroyed two tomatoes whose remnants were scattered all over the living room, I did not want her to spoil her dad’s crisply ironed white shirt which was lying on the table and was her next target. So I jumped up as soon as she took the next step, bundled her up in one hand while carrying my lunch plate in the other and noticed the futility of the action – she started bawling her lungs out and I shoved the rest of the rice as hurriedly I could and that is what happened.

Q2 – Why are you staring at walls in your free time?

A2 – I keep thinking what to do next, take a break from work or resume the corporate job, if so how to and when. Also I keep thinking I should start a yoga routine and stick to it for a week at least and then when I finally decide I will wake up early the next day come what may how I end up wallowing in self pity because I get my period. Uncanny coincidence.

Q3 – Instead of staring at the walls you could use the time to do something, no?

A3 – I did! I cleaned the wardrobe and dressing table twice, stacked away all the unused clothes away, reorganized all my documents and certificates and journals and tried to keep stuff out of reach from Moo.

Q4 – Did you read anything?

A4 – Reread ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’. That is all. Sigh.

Q5 – So what useful thing you did over the summer?

A5 – Ha, asking as if the summer is over 🙄 Well, the last three months saw many trips to places and visits with Moo – so much so she is ready to jump into any car she sees, thinking its time to travel again. From temples to beaches to hill stations, the little tyke has seen it all. Hosting over people because it is vacation time – taking them around the city and shopping because I am free like that – how I wish I had a job to escape the relatives onslaught 😥

Q6 – Its been over three or four months since you blogged, you forgot that you have a blog?

A6 – Why are you asking me everything as if you do not know anything. Where was the internet huh? And the laptop? Two days of using the browser on phone only made my eyes pain, how to read and write in peace when you have six kids under seven hanging around you and screeching ‘new game today, new game today’. When I did have the laptop with me for few hours, I saw Game of Thrones 🙄 🙄 🙄

Q7 – What do you want to do next in your life?

A7 – I want to do something for sure, but do not have an idea how-when-what.

Q8 – And now suddenly you will have time for whatever you want to do?

A8 – Of course, vacations are over and schools start today. All guests are gone and the laptop now has dedicated time towards moi :evil laugh:

Q9 – Your daughter is now getting more attached to you than anybody else, isnt it?

A9 – I think it is long overdue. Sigh.

P.S I have missed being here as much as I miss my mummy’s daal and sambar. See all of you soon 🙂

Leibster’s eleven

ZM from My Cooking Adventures and Techie2Mom tagged me along with a bunch of awesome bloggers here to answer few questions, also awarding us the Leibster award. Ever enthusiastic and always ready to help, she was the one who cleared all my doubts related to microwave baking( I am never gonna leave bugging you though  )

( 1 ) What do you cook when suddenly some guests appear at your doorstep?
Open fridge.

Is the dosa batter box in there? Yes. Does it have enough batter? Yes. Make dosa and coconut chutney.

No batter or not enough to feed all?

Close fridge.

Check the potato basket. Does it have potatoes? Yes. Make aloo parathas.

No potatoes? Make tea and make rava kesari.

(2) How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Get surprises all day long.

(3)Your favorite book?
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

(4) What are the qualities that you admire the most in people?
Humorous. Open-minded. I especially like the ones who bring life into the gathering or party.

(5) How did you meet your spouse?
Technically, I heard him first. That happened due to a phone call.

(6) Do you plan for future? If yes, then what do you see yourself doing in after 20 years.
My plans for next week only don’t materialize and you are asking the scene after 20 years!!

(7) What do you like the most about yourself?
I like two things the most – first is my will power, second is I always see the good out of bad.

(8) What do you like the most about your spouse?
Again two things here  – his way to manage any kind of crisis and a calm and practical solution to what-the-hell-do-I-do-now kind of situation. Second is his humor quotient.

(9) Would you like to change something about your life? If yes, then what’s it.
I wish I had the experience of living in a hostel.

(10) Do you easily get angry or are you one of those saints? Whats your trick to keeping a calm mind
Oh I am the grandmother of all the peaceful saints. I always see myself in the shoes of the person trying to make me angry. And seeing the opposite person’s point of view makes me realise how much he/she needs a head massage and a good sleep actually.

(11) what is your favourite comfort food?
Steaming hot rice, dal tadka and aloo fry or bhindi masala(whichever is available, if neither – mango pickle).
